Lash Lift FAQ

Q1. How does it work?

A Lash Lift opens the bonds of the hair (yes, lashes are hair) so that we can change the natural, genetic direction of them. The second lotion we use, called a "Setting Lotion" closes the bonds of the hair and puts everything back in order.

Q2. How long does it last?

The lashes we Lift will stay lifted until they fall out (naturally) which is usually around 6-8 weeks, and sometimes longer depending on your growth cycle.

Q3. It's been 7 weeks and my lashes don't look lifted anymore. What happened?

It is possible you have had many old lashes at the end of their life cycle fall out (the ones we've Lifted) and so all your left with is the fresh baby hairs that have grown through, ones that aren't lifted because they had not penetrated your eye lids in order to be lifted during our treatment 5 weeks ago. This is normal!

Q4. Does your service include a lash tint?

It certainly does! A Lash Tint is included in the price for you.

Q5. Is it safe for your lashes?

I have specifically chosen the brand Elleebana because they use cysteamine HCL active instead of Thioglycolic acid. Thyogylycolic acid is a much stronger chemical used in most Lash Lifting formula's that is very similar to what is used in a hair perming solution. It is also presumed to be the main culprit in the over-curling of lashes in the early days of Lash Lifting. Hence why I use Elleebana's HCL formula! It's much more gentle whilst still getting a good result.

I also use two additional nourishing treatments for your lashes to ensure they are still hydrated and as healthy as possible: one during the Tint (which I refer to as "healthy Olaplex for Lashes" and is called Elleplex ReGen) and a topical treatment at the end as a clear mascara (which is the Elleeplex Mascara). We're all about keeping you as natural and healthy as possible here.

Q6. When should I come in again?

In 6 to 8 weeks since your last appointment! I also offer a discounted price if you re-book within this time frame.

In saying that, if you're looking at your lashes in week 7 and thinking "most of my lashes are still lifted, I'm pretty happy with them still" then wait! Take note of when you start to feel as though most of them aren't lifted anymore--simply count the weeks since your last appointment--so that you know how long to re-book for next time!

Q7. Can I get my lashes wet?

Short answer: Yes! You can do absolutely anything with your lashes... after 12 hours has passed since your appointment. This is just a precaution to make sure the lashes stay as they are. Think of this precaution just like baking a cake: the recommendation is to cool the cake on a wire rack to make sure it's cooked perfectly and ready to go! Same deal.

After that first 12 hours, you can do anything! Put on mascara. Rub your lashes. Go swimming. Go for gold my friend! I love this treatment because it's so low maintenance and low cost.
